I'm a divorced woman and have to admit I've been lonely - all work and no play. About a year and half ago I answered an ad in the personals from a inmate seeking someone to be pen pals with. At first I was reluctant but eventually wrote him. Of course before I did this I rented a private mailbox as I didn't know what to expect.

Just my luck that it turns out he is married but his wife doesn't visit him. We've been exchanging letters about once a week and I've never had the nerve to visit him. But, I sure have had dreams about having sex with him. We have exchanged pictures and he is a gorgeous man. He is serving his time and is paying his dues and I feel he is a good person and deserves an second chance. Do you figure writing letters to a convict is like having an affair? I think since he's married some might think being a pen pal with him is like cheating. I don't know or even care. I think I'm falling in love with another woman's husband and am seeking advice.

Being a pen pal and writing letters secretly to another person of the opposite sex who is incarcerated could be considered cheating by some, depending on what you are writing about. And it doesn't sound like you have been exactly writing him to discuss the weather. Since his wife hasn't been in contact I personally don't consider writing to him as cheating or having an affair. It sounds like you have your mind made up to meet him when he's released - just be careful. Remember, you may have been writing letters to him but you still don't know him. Take it slow and gradual and make sure it's what you really want in your life. And don't forget, he is still married.
